Editing Blog: Changing the Plan

So, we did the filming part of the final task not totally wrong but somewhat wrong. The film is supposed to be the opening sequence of a movie. Instead of that we film a whole short film not knowing completely. This time we left the editing up to Joel since he had an idea on how to fix. Of course, we’re going to help him if we need to. However, he said that he had software which was called Danvinci Resolve, so we thought it was best for him edit the film. I was going to record the outside of my house for one of the scenes, which wasn’t what we included at first in our film. I believe that Joel will be the on who puts the clips together so it seems like it is an opening sequence. The point of this is so that it doesn’t tell the whole story or plot. I’ll put the words and titles and things like production and editing since I was the one who picked the fonts. Ludji also thought it was best for us to leave the part of when her and I were having a conversation on the phone. This takes up a lot of time, while the opening sequence is only supposed to be minimum 1 minute and 57 seconds. We are going to also to mix the clips around so that the plot is not as obvious as it should be. Such as, maybe putting the jumpscare first instead of it being the last clip. Both Joel and Ludji thought it would also be cool to edit some blood into the opening sequence while the title is being shown. At first, before editing, we thought that we should’ve just re film since this film is half of our grade. However, we realize we really didn’t have that much time. So we edited the clips to the best of ability. Like, clipping clips, or shortening clips. Also, leaving clips out that we thought told to much plot. Though, the easy part was just putting the words on the screen and also using different effects. I took part in editing the film like the titles and sub titles on the film. Such as using the font we chose and adding the editors, production company, and the actors. I made sure that about every person got the same amount of credit while I created these titles. I also used the app Alight Motion and I was able to fade the white text into red to give it that scary effect.
