So doing the music video was fun to be honest. It was easy to plan out because we already planned out weeks ago what we were going to do. Such as, going over each other’s houses since we could film a school. That was one drawback to be honest. We also knew what our plan was because we already had the plot to the our story. So when went to each other houses, all we had to was just film. Next time for this music I might consider something different. Maybe like, being in the video instead of filming. It was frustrating at times. Like trying to figure out a plot of the music video. Or like all agreeing on one song was also annoying. Everyone wanted different songs. It was also good to have extra people to help us out on the music video. We also got a lot of feedback on our music video from classmates. Which, I did not like really, but it’s always good to have another set of eyes, or a perspective. The only not hard but, something that got in a way a little was that one person had a differ

Editing was easy for the most part since I already knew what I was doing. I used an app that I was familiar with so I wouldn’t have to learn how to use a different app. I added certain edits in there like split screen, fade in, fade out, and so on. I just inserted a clip, maybe shortened it or made it longer so it could match the length of the song we used. The only editing I had to do on the song was to fade the sound in towards the beginning and to fade the sound out towards the end of the music video. I also had to lower the sound for a period of time so the dialogue of the video was present. The only thing that was stressful and annoying was when the app (Alight Motion) would lag, glitch, or kick me out of the app. Other than that editing was pretty smooth. I tried to edit and film at the same time so it wouldn’t be as much work. However, in the end I just ended up editing after I was done filming everything. When I had to edit the video, it wasn’t the “editing” I thought we had t

So, editing was hectic to be honest. I was not in the video so I did ALL the filming. As I was filming, I was trying to edit as I went. It wasn’t that the app was hard to use, it was the process of doing it at the same time.  I had to put all the clips together. Also including spilt screen shots at certain points of the video. I used Alight Motion to edit this music video. At one part I was thinking about changing the editing software. I thought this because I would insert a video and it would kick me out. However, I continued using it and it came out nice. I had to mute clips, or make them blend in into the music I inserted. Which the song that I inserted was Passionfruit by Drake.  The split screens were also quite difficult to make. I had to make sure that the clips were equal length of time. Also  had to make sure that the clips were equally even on the screen. Also there were times the clips sometimes overlapping so it would glitch. That almost cost us our whole video, but it was

Filming the blog wasn’t as hard I thought it would be. I basically filmed off based on what I knew. I did try watching some videos on examples. Those did help a bit with the whole process. At times, I would get a little frustrated with filming the music video. For this film I was using a iPhone to record. One of the reasons I got upset is because my phone died once. My phone would sometimes glitch too. So I figured to just make separate videos and merge them all together towards the end. That worked out so I wouldn’t keep loosing all my progress on the music video. I filmed the video for around 3 hours with my group mates. I only filmed this long because I wanted to be not perfect my at least the music video message was getting the idea across. I want someone to not be able to understand the music video before looking at our storyboard. Filming was a great experience and changed my perspective on everything as a whole. I believe our song my groups mates and I picked also kind of conve

Long Distance

During the production of the blog I recorded for the most part. I made sure that the videos looked right and had correct angles during certain scenes of the music video. I recorded it on my iPhone and was able to send to my group mates. I made sure, as we were recording that we weren’t to over the time limit or to under. I wanted to be fancy, so I thought about adding slow-mos. I recorded them, but im unsure on whether I should add them. I made sure the camera was steady as I was video taking the music video. It was fun, we did a lot, lot of retakes but it got to the point when we finally finished. We planned out our schedule to film to 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM and that was the perfect time slot. We kept recording until it met our standards I assume. We used other people in the music video also for the music video, and it came out pretty good. We also had back-ups just in case if anything happened. It was a learning process honestly. As I went in to record I had the mindset that “oh this is

Costume : Dress with leather jacket, suit, red pajama pants and an oversized t-shirt, red pajama Location : Filmed at Ludjmilla's house, on a  saturday in the afternoon Backup plan : Filmed at the park, on a  saturday, in the afternoon . We will use the same props and same costume despite the costume change.  The Story takes place first at a club with flashing lights and different camera angles.  The boy and the girl make eye contact and the boy goes over to the girl to start talking.  They feel a connections and exchange numbers  However, the girl isn't from Florida. She is from California.  This raises a long distance issue.  They continue to text over the phone until they see each other again

My group for the Music Video

Image
For this group project, it will be three of us. It will me be Mai’Lyia, Ludji or Ludjimillia, and Joel. The reason why I chose them for our group is because I know them. I thought it would be easier and simpler to do a project with people you already know. Ludjimilla and I are in the same class but have different periods. However, I’m in the same period with Joel. We plan to make the music video over Ludji’s house since we can’t record on school campus. As for picking the songs, it was a long process. First, I suggested Broken Clocks by SZA, but no one wanted to do that song. Then I recommend some BTS songs but no one wanted to that either. Afterwards I recommended some songs by the Weeknd and SZA again and none of those we agreed on either. Ludji wanted to do “Singing In the Shower” we all said no to that too. I also suggested the Miraculous Ladybug opening as a joke and no one agreed on that either. I also said “Don’t Wanna Fall In Love” by Kyle. However, I don’t think that song has

Introduction to the Music Video

Image
It’s me again! I’m back to make a music video this time!! Hi, my name is Mai’Lyia and I’m in 10th grade. I’m 14 years old, turning 15 in a couple of days on September 21st. Yes, I’m still 14 in my sophomore year. I have 4 siblings, one biological, and 3 from different parents. I have one dog, a Doberman Pinscher named Nala. I love listening to music, like a lot. I listen to a lot of genres but k-pop is probably a genre I listen to the most. I love BTS, yes the k-pop group, I got into them in 2019. Most of the time I won’t tell people I like it, they eventually figure it out. My favorite color has always been purple since I was little. It has been a little more significant to me now because of BTS though. I’d like to think of myself as an introvert. I usually only talk to people if they talk to me and then we’ll start talking more. My family would know for sure, I’m a whole different person at home. I’d like to think I’m a nice person, like the type of person to hold the door for the w
