Filming Blog: Completing the Blog

The process of our filming consisted of two weekends. The first weekend, we were not confused but unsure how we should start or begin. We filmed one part and talked and planned a little more about how we should start the film. The next weekend, Joel and Ludji came over and this time we filmed and finished all of it. At first, we were going to use my camera that I received two Christmas’s ago but decided to go on a different route. As we were filming the previous weekend, the camera was coming close to being dead and I didn’t have any batteries at the time. Also it was a long and complicated process of transferring the videos to my phone so I could merge the videos and edit it properly. So, instead we filmed on Ludji’s phone because it was easier to do. Her phone is an iPhone 11 so it has the feature of cinematic on there. Thanks to that, the quality came close almost the same as an actually camera. The quality was very good and consisted of smooth movements and had good lighting. However, the parts we had to film in the dark were a bit of lesser quality and were very grainy. Although the purpose of the film is for it to be dark, I do wish that it looked a little bit better. If I were to film on my actual camera, the flash would’ve helped the overall lighting of the dark scenes. Even though the quality isn’t the the point of the film, it was a bit frustrating to not to be able to the see the actors faces in dark places. Other than that, filming was a success and we still had time to relax afterwards. My house is a decent size house so their wasn’t that many obstacles in the way of space wise while filming. We used several rooms to make it known that things took place in various locations. Both Joel and I took turns filming because of different scenes. We are all in the film however Ludji was the man character and was present throughout all the scenes.
