Production Blog - Now? Ok, Commence!

Hey Blog!! It’s Mai’Lyia and we’re back today with the beginning of the filming process. Today, we began filming the filming process. I told myself that I would record my five minute film gradually, so that’s what I did. We chose to only film the opening sequence today. This was around 1 minute and 30 seconds to 2 minutes. I had to be sure to include angles in the film, such as the establishing shot of the house. I had to make sure I had all my props and to let my two sisters know what the whole process was going to be. I sent my sister the script, Mihanna, and just explained to her what her lines were. My other sister, Elise, wasn’t really part of the film yet per se. She comes in a little later during the film so I just had her there for backup help. Filming went a little bit better than I expected it to be to be frank. I wanted it to rain and it did, which was a plus. The scene was supposed to be dark and eerie so that was good. The only thing that was a little challenging today was just trying to figure things out. It is around 5 minutes so I was just conflicted on how to really begin this. Hopefully, it matches well with the rest of the film and we can get it done pretty efficiently. The best time to honestly film would be around 6-7. That’s also good because that’s the time we get home anyway. Also, I was trying very well to not tell the whole story in 2 minutes. So in sense, I was dragging it out.
