Production Blog - That’s a Wrap No. 3

Hey Blog, it’s me again, your fav Mai’Lyia, and I’m back with another rant of my crazy production process. Today was the day. It was the last day of filming and it was absolutely the best filming day if I’m being honest. We had a few bumps and ups and downs here and there, but overall it came out just how I wanted it. I was very nervous on how it would turn out, and it turns out I was worried for nothing. Some scenes I would like to highlight that I think made a true impact was the scene where Renee, the main character was captured by the victim. Some challenges we faced were lighting issues. The whole basis of the film was to be a bit dark, but it wasn’t really ideal to film so late at night. So, at times we just shot scenes that needed to ultimately shot during the night time. Also, some script changes happened, and then we change them back. Ultimately, it was just me going back and forth of what I thought was good and which wasn’t. We took breaks here and there, and were able to utilize the whole day in order to film my short movie. Even though the bumps were small, it still affected the overall schedule. At one point, my sister wasn’t feeling so well had to wait around an hour. Then, my brother had practice so I also had to wait for him to get home. But, besides any of that, we got it done! Now, I just have to add the final finishing touches to the editing process and then we’re good to go! Honestly, there may also be some changes with the editing process as well. I may need to include a new app, being CapCut or Alight Motion to add the titles for the actors and the title screen.

Thats all for now! Thanks for listening to my blog once again. Hoped my rant made intentions of my blog more clear and interesting. Until next time, MJ out.
