Production Blog: Ugh, Editing

Hey Blog! Welcome back, and it’s your fav, Mai’Lyia, back with another rant on the editing process of the film. In short, this is the worse part, but we shall push through! Okay so, in one of previous blogs I remember saying how we were going to use either CapCut or iMovie. As I began to film the beginning stages of the videos, I decided to insert them into each app, and pick which one seemed more suitable for the type of film I’m doing. I first tried CapCut, which ultimately, was not my favorite. Then I moved on to iMovie. I’ve had previous experiences with this app, however, I was just playing around during these instances. Anyways, I inserted the clips in and it looked SUPER good. It merged the videos pretty well, automatically. So far, only 2 minutes of my film is complete, and looking at it from iMovie was very satisfying to say the least. I also played around with it a bit. Dragging and dropping things, inserting music and certain transitions as well. Overall, iMovie was the way to go, and I’m so glad it worked out. It definitely was pretty simple when it came to adding things. This made it oddly easy to use this app that I honestly hadn’t touched in forever.

Thats all for now! Thanks for listening to my blog once again. Hoped my rant made intentions of my blog more clear and interesting. Until next time, MJ out.
